Free Investment Education for Cache Valley Residents!

Feb. 24, 2008

Dear Brian Fantanna,

My name is Danny Robinson and I represent the Cache Valley Area Investors Association. I just wanted to inform you of a growing opportunity for Cache Valley residents to learn how to become financially independent.

With virtually no advertising on our part, the association already has 40 members. Our members have been finding a lot of success in the investment world through applying the techniques taught by the association founder Preston Parker. These techniques form a certain mindset, which helps our members recognize value, and thus become savvy investors.

Preston, who is also a Utah State professor, started the organization in August of 2007 with hopes to help others find the financial freedom he has through investing wisely. “I believe people should be financially independent,” Parker says, “I started this organization to help people recognize investment opportunities.” Such opportunities will provide people with passive income to supplement their earned income. Parker believes that the mindset he can help his members gain, will bring them a consistent 20-40 percent return on their money.

The investors association meets at 7 p.m. every other Thursday at the Cache Valley Chamber of Commerce. Our next meeting will be held on Mar. 6, 2008. We would love to have you attend one of our meetings, or you can give me a call to set up an interview with either Preston or myself. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I like that you asked for a specific day to meet, and that you asked "are you available" instead of "are you free". Even more effective is to offer two options for the person to choose.

Put the person's contact info right before the salutation in the beginning.

Nice to mention how this association relates not only to the person you are pitching to, but also to the readers. Making this connection explicit will help make your pitch more successful.

Put your contact info at the bottom after your name. Identify your relationship with the association.

The association is not free, the meeting are.

Interesting approach that you are a member of the association, but not anyone who is specifically in charge of publicity.

I would get some more of the lead elements near the beginning: meeting every other Thursday in the Cache County Chamber of Commerce at 7 p.m., anyone can attend and it's free of charge.

Also, have your call to action sentence at the end be a separate paragraph so it stands out.

Danny,
I think Preston pretty much covered it. I don't think I could give you any better advice than his. Good Luck
