Bill And Teds African Journey
POSTED: Nov. 14, 2007 10:10 a.m.
Logan, Utah-- Bill Gates and Ted Turner were seen getting off of a private jet together earlier today in Abuja, Nigeria. This visit to Africa comes as a result of several meetings and phone conversations with African officials regarding a healthcare education project in Nigeria and other countries in Africa, according to Mayor Malik Ok of Abuja. An officail announcement on the project, according to Gates, will come within the next month.
Speculation over the visits suggests that The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Ted Turner are planning on funding a project to help educate the African people. "We just don’t have the funds to educate our people", Mayor Ok said, when asked about Gates and Turners contributions he described them as very generous individuals.
The general plan as described by Ok is to build more educational facilities to educate his people on healthcare topics so that less people die from diseases in Africa. The education Ok says is "Not for degrees but for health, too many infants are dying.
Warren Buffett is also a large contributor to the project.
